Stenson Junction/ North Staffs Junction - 24th April 2025
Stenson Junction and North Stafford Junction (North Staffs Jn), is a busy midlands interchange with routes from Derby - Birmingham crossed with freight lines from Toton and passenger routes to Stoke on Trent and Crewe. The four way split can provide some very busy periods of freight and passenger trains. The railway junction is situated next to the Trent and Mersey Canal which provides a nice canal side walk between the two locations, an there is a new pub/ grill recently opened which now has strong links to canal side traffic. I used this location as a good mid-point journey stop while on route to the north east, with no prior planning the day turned out to be incredibly busy with varied and interesting workings.
