Switzerland - March 2026
Between the 16th and 20th March 2026, I visited Switzerland. It had been ten years since the last time I’d visited the country; the previous two visits were so enjoyable, this stunning country was calling out to be explored further. The country may be small, but it has a lot to offer. We flew from Bristol – Basel Mullhouse before exiting into Switzerland and catching the No.50 bus service to Basel SBB, which runs every 10 -15 minutes, and is free to use for those with hotels booked in the city. Upon arrival at your hotel, you are also issued a Basel card, which provides free public transport on buses and trams throughout the city. For this visit, we used Basel as our week-long base, and combined this with a three-day Interrail digital pass to use the efficient Swiss Railway System to visit locations across the country. The trip was a mixture of railway photography, city exploring, and enjoying the crisp scenic views, along with excellent food.
