Tonbridge - 14th November 2024
Tonbridge is a busy freight and passenger centre in the Autumn season as the adjacent Tonbridge Yard is used as the south eastern Network Rail hub for all regional Rail Head Treatment Trains, which are operated by GBRf.
Tonbridge railway station is on the South Eastern Main Line in England, serving the town of Tonbridge, Kent. It is 29 miles from London Charing Cross via Sevenoaks. Trains calling at the station are operated by Southeastern and Southern. The unique location with a mixture of freight and passenger services makes the station incredibly buys and interesting to visit. I visited on the 14th November 2024 mid way through the annual leaf fall season. I travelled via Reading, and Redill on the outbound leg of the trip and back via London Bridge for the return. The added bonus of the last steam hauled Bellmond Pullman of 2024 was also captured during the late afternoon.
