A Look Back to 2004

Picture
2004 was a year of plenty and a year of transition in the railway world. It was also the first purchase of a Canon Digital SLR. In March 2004 I invested in my first ever Canon 10D SLR camera which at the time was one of the medium range cameras able to produce six megapixel images. This gallery charts my first year having switched from 35mm film to Digital for the first time. We start in March 2004 and run through in date order to December 2004. It was a busy year for rail trips including visits to Wales, the North East, Midlands, and London during the course of the year.
During lock-down I deiced to go back to the start of my digital collection and re-edit every image I took in 2004. Image processing software and my own Photoshop skills had advanced to new levels over the 15 years since the images were first taken, and I've been blown away with the quality of the finished images which have been reproduced from just a six megapixel image. We hope you enjoy this trip down memory lane.
