A Look Back to 2005
2005 was another year of transition across the UK rail network, with passenger fleets mid-upgrade and plenty of loco-hauled trains in operation. East Anglia in particular was seeing a huge amount of new stock, liveries and locomotives transferring to the region, brining some colourful varieties.

Captured in the Car Park behind the Brunel Train Shed at Bristol Temple Meads on the 9th January 2005. Built in Glasgow in 1896 and shipped to Capetown in the same year this locomotives first worked on The Cape Government Railway in south west Africa. In 1971 she was the last Class 7 on South African Railways, working in Johannesburg Station. She was then purchased by the Zambezi Sawmills Railway for further service. In 1973 she was presented to David Shepherd as a gift by the first president of Zambia, Dr. Kenneth Kaunda, together with a coach. The journey back to England in 1974 via the Victoria Falls railway bridge, our through Mozambique, round the Cape and into Manchester Docks was the subject of the BBC TV Documentary 'Last Train to Mulobezi'. Sent out to Africa in the reign of Queen Victoria now she's home.

EWS Class 67 pairing No.67001 and No.67016 are split from one another at York on the 27th Augusut 2005. The pair had arrived with Past Time Rail charter 'The York Flyer' the 1Z27 05:50 Taunton - York. Upon arrival No.67001 was moved to the other end of the train to lead back to Taunton in top and tail formation.
A pure LMS line-up at the Crewe Works Open Day on the 10th September 2005. No.LMS Princess Coronation Class No.46233 'Duchess of Sutherland', MS Princess Coronation Class NO.46229 'Duchess of Hamilton', Princess Royal Class No.46203 'Princess Margaret Rose', and Princess Royal Class No.6201 'Princess Elizabeth'.
