Turning Back the Clock
It is becoming increasingly hard to produce period images in the modern world, but with a little bit of care, attention to detail (and moderate work in an image editing package), it's possible to achieve results which can look like they 'could' of been taken in the period which they were intended. Many of the images shown in this gallery were simply achieved with a keen eye, and a simple convert to black and white, however others have had some more detailed work applied to them.
Colour Popping
Colour Popping is the art of using image editing software to alter images from full colour to a mixture of Colour/ Black and White. The effect transforms an image into a 'work of art' rather than a photographic image Perhaps the most 'classic' of these types of images are those produced featuring London Transport items, such as Phone Boxes, and London Busses.
Red is a popular colour to use, but other colours also lend themselves to this form of conversation. Some images work better than others, but with a little trial and error you can achieve some interesting results.
The below gallery provides an insight into some of the effects which can be produced using various image editing techniques.
