Day 5 - Erstfeld, Wassen & Goschenen

Picture
It's not always possible to produce the perfect picture, when you book a photographic holiday months in advance you have to take the weather as each day arrives. The fifth day of our trip provided non stop torrential rain all day long, with only limited amounts of let up in the conditions. Most fare weather photographers would probably sit in their hotel rooms all day or find an alternative activity. You can't pick the conditions in which your photograph but it's always best to make the best of what you have on any given day. Erstfeld was a natural starting point for the day as later in the morning we had arranged for a visit with SBB Historic to have a guided tour around the Historic Collection. After spending some time in the small township we had lunch in a local railwaymans cafe, and then set sail for Intshi. At Intshi there is a handy free public car park which gives good views of the alpine railway scenes in both directions. Later in the day we took up an alternative position at Goschenen Station.
