Diesel Pioneer Service - Severn Valley Railway

Picture
The Severn Valley Railway 'Diesel Pioneer' service has been a great named train addition to the Severn Valley Railway since the Covid Pandemic. Many of the heritage diesel locomotives have been sharing operating days over the past year and the train services have been a big hit with enthusiasts. Sunday 12th September was the turn of the two operational Western Locomotives to operate three return trips during the day between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth.
Mainline registered D1015 'Western Champion' and home fleet loco No.D1062 'Western  Courier' took it in turns to operate over the length of the line. Western Courier was also carrying the headcode identity of sister locomotive No.D1041 'Western Prince'.
A day rover ticket for the service costs £25 and can be pre-booked via the Severn Valley Railway website.
