Eastleigh and Southampton - 26th January 2019
Saturday 26th January 2019 provided a quick visit to Eastleigh and Southampton to visit the Eastleigh Model Railway Exhibition. The chance was taken to travel by train from Yeovil Junction (No.159008) to Salisbury and change for (No.158881) to Eastleigh. Eastleigh and Southampton are always bustling places to visit for freight and passenger actively thanks to the close proximity of the Southampton Maritime Container Port. Eastleigh is also an important and large infrastructure base for Network Rail.
At the time of my visit the South West Trains franchise had recently ended and had changed hands to become South Western Railway. While most of the trains were still in SWT branded colours, many were now sporting SWR branding.
The below images are a small selection of the images captured during the short winter visit to the tow Hampshire towns.
