A day with 'Midland Red' in the Cotswolds -19th May 2016
.Timeline Events held a Photographic Charter using two former Midland Red buses on the 19th May 2016. The day started at and finished at the Midland Bus Museum based at Wythall. The museum boasts a collection of 96 preserved busses and hold regular events at the site. The first half of the day used 1964 built Midland S16 which was the last S16 built with a crash gearbox. The morning session took in photographic locations at Wythall, Binton, and Chipping Campden. After returning for a lunch break back at the museum it was a quick switch over to a Midland D9 double decker for an afternoon foray through the classic scenes in the Cotswolds. We visited Willersey and Broadway to complete the days photography before the weather closed in for the day. We also had a fleet of vintage cars with us for the day including a Standard 8, Swallow Doretti and Austin Healey.
The well organised event provided some stunning scenery and great locations (complete with period actors), along with lengthy runs on each of the superbly restored vehicles. It was clear the Wythall Museum cared for each and every bus this operate and it was great to see such a band of enthusiastic volunteers who helped make the day go so smoothly.
