Swanage Diesel Gala - May 2022

The Swanage Diesel Gala and Beer Festival for 2022 promised to be a more popular than ever, back after an absence of three years owing the various lockdowns and Covid restrictions. The Swanage Railway put together a fantastic range of former British Railways locomotives. Home fleet locomotives No.D6515 (33012) and No.33111 lined up alongside visiting locomotives: Class 25 D7612, Class 37 No.37703, Class 44 No.D4, Class 46 No.D182, Class 50 No.50026 and GBRf Class 73 No.73136. GBRf also supplied their newest locomotive type No.69004 as a static exhibit for the event with the opportunity to visit the locomotive cab for a small fee, raising funds for GBRf charities. The railway provided a fantastic event with local hot food at both Swanage and Corfe Castle alongside the ever popular beer festival.
