Swanage Railway - 'Winter Warmer'  - 7th January 2023

The Swanage Railway hosted a small gala event on the 7th/ 8th January 2023. 'The Winter Warmer' was a first for the line, featuring a timetable of half steam and half diesel. With Network Southeast Class 50 No.50026 resident on the line it made a great way for the line to host a small post Christmas Gala without the costs of bringing in an visiting locomotive from elsewhere. Two train passenger operation and a goods train allowed four locomotives to operate. Loocmotives featured at the event included:

Class 33 No.33012 waits to continue to Nordon at Corfe Castle on the 7th Januaty 2023 while operating the 12:45 from Swanage. Passing in the other direction Class 50 No.50026 operates the 13:02 Nordon - Swanage freight train.

Network Southeast Class 50 No.50026 is pictured at Swanage on the 7th January 2023 complete with a headboard with a tribute to Adrain Shooter who sadly passed away on the 13th December, he sadly died from Motor Neuron Disease.
