UK Trucks & Haulage
The UK Trucking Industry hosts a wealth of colour, interest and entertainment for an photographer, and as each year progresses another truck type becomes a 'classic'. My personal interest came from the Heavy Haulage Industry which specialize in hauling railway locomotives around the UK, from there my interest grew to notice other types vehicles on the road. While I may not have the biggest collection of images, I surprised myself with just how many images I did have lurking in various folders!
From the smallest of operators to the largest commercial operatings such as Stobart, WH Malcom, and Norbert Dentressangle, every truck has a history and while taking a photo 'now' may be but a passing glimpse, in 20,30,40 years time the image will date a point in time for others to look back upon.

Wessex Truck Show 2015
The 2015 Wessex Truck Show held at the Yeovil Show Ground had to be the biggest and best yet, with over 400 trucks on display over the 8th and 9th August 2015. The sun shone for most of the weekend allowing drivers to spend extra time in the sun polishing their pride and joy. The event included a fun fair, craft stalls, remote control trucks, sales stands and of course the stars of the show, over 400 commercial trucks from the South West polished, waxed, and painted to provide visitors with some stunning exhibits to view.
Wessex Truck Show - 2013
With Truckfest having pulled out of the popular Bath and West showground event in 2013, a group of Somerset based truckers felt there was a gap in the market to promote a South West based truck show. A site at the Yeovil Showground was quickly located, and the organisers set about putting together a show for the public (and truckers) to call their own.
The Yeovil site is able to hold about 300 trucks, along with display stands, and space for commercial retailers.
The sun shone and the crowds flocked to the new site for the first weekend of Wessex Truck Show. This was the first such an event that I had attended, but found the trucks to be nicely spaced for photography.
